  • Back to Boston for SQL Saturday

I’m leaving again tomorrow for a trip. This time I head back to Boston for a Redgate DevOps in a Day on Thursday and SQL Saturday Boston 2024 on Saturday. This is a fun event and one I’ve attended the last few years. It’s one I look forward to as well.

If you’re in the area, register and join me Saturday for a packed schedule of learning on PoSh, Fabric, TempDB, AI, and more. If you want something a little lighter, I’m doing a new session on balancing life with career.

And if you’re coming Saturday, what about coming Friday for a pre-con with Bob Ward with a Cloud Workshop. A good, inexpensive way to get some training from one of the top technical engineers at Microsoft.

Come join me and invest in yourself and your career at SQL Saturday Boston 2024. And if you want, come Thursday as well to our Redgate Database DevOps in a Day

  • Branding Yourself for a Dream Job Slides

It was very cool to come back to Syracuse for the first SQL Saturday. It was neat for me, since I used to live here, Shaw Residence Hall at Syracuse University:

In any case, the slides for my talk are here: Branding Yourself for a Dream Job.pptx

  • SQL Saturday Boston 2024 Plans

I was accepted to speak at SQL Saturday Boston 2024, which is taking place on October 5, 2024. One month away. This is a fun event that takes place in Burlington, MA, just north of Boston. I’ve been there twice now and I’m honored and excited to go back.

There is also a pre-con. Bob Ward is teaching an all day session on Friday, October 4th that is a Cloud Workshop for the SQL Professional. Check out the description and register today.

Definitely come on Saturday. I have a new session that I’m working on to help you balance life and career, but there will be a bunch of other great talks. Each year I go there, I find a few interesting things to see and this year is no different. Check out the schedule and I’m sure you’ll agree.

So click on over to https://sqlsaturday.com/boston and register for this SQL Saturday and I’ll see you next month.

  • Back to Syracuse for SQL Saturday

Syracuse is having their first SQL Saturday on Sept 7, 2024. I’ll be there and hope to see you there as well. If you’re anywhere close, come on over and join us for a free day or learning about how to better work with data.

I’ll be doing a professional development talk on Branding Yourself for a Dream Job. You can also check out the rest of the schedule.

I never thought I’d go back to Syracuse when I left in 1987. I spent a couple of years at Syracuse University and learned a lot, but it was far to cold and snowy (and expensive) for me.

Then my daughter decided to attend SUNY Potsdam and I’ve made quite a few trips through Syracuse as the closest major airport for travel to see her. I even managed to steal an hour on a trip and drive around the campus.

I don’t know I’ll get to do much this trip, but I do hope to at least go get a slice of pizza at an old haunt.
