, as Kendra has other commitments. Still, it’s exciting for Kathi, Grant, and myself to be presenting the Birthday Edition as Redgate turns 20 this year.

I’m off to the UK this weekend, for a few commitments next week. One of those is SQL in the City Streamed, which is taking place on Wednesday September 4, 2019.
This is a special broadcast, with some technical content, but some fun as well. This is the 20th birthday party for Redgate Software, and we’re looking forward to celebrating online.

I’ll be coming to SQL Saturday #890 – Austin in just over a week. Austin is a great technology town, and this should be one of the larger SQL Saturday events. I know traffic is tough, but the event is at St Edwards University, which isn’t downtown, so hopefully some of you can come.
I’ve got two talks, and I’m excited about both. I’m doing a DevOps talk about the overview of how to incorporate the database into a DevOps flow. This has been a popular talk across the last few years, and I’ve given it at the Summit a couple of times.
The other talk is one I’m more excited. The Future of Database Development with Containers is a look at how we might use SQL Server in software development in the future. It’s something Microsoft has shown some ideas with, but I’ve got some cool Redgate technology to show off as well, with a database-as-a-service from the Foundry.

If you want more training, there is a great pre-con on Friday as well. You can learn Data Science with Chris Hyde and add to your skillset. It’s good preparation if your company wants to perform more complex data analysis.
One of my favorite events, in a wonderful place to spend the weekend. I’ve been to Pensacola a few times (3?), including a couple times with my daughter. It’s always a fun weekend with Karla, Rodney, Ed, and the other organizers that make it a fun event. Even deep sea fishing Sunday if that’s your thing.
This year I’m heading back after missing a few events. I’m lucky to go and I’m looking forward to delivering a new presentation. This one is one the future of Database Development with Containers, showing a vision of how things are changing. Microsoft has shown some similar items, but I’ve got some cool technology to show off from the Redgate Research Division, the Foundry.
