Memories of 2013

the holiday season and are not too busy at work.  I hope most of you had a great year in 2013, and with that in mind, I wanted to ask you a simple question:

What’s your best SQL Server memory of 2013?

Maybe it was when you solved a problem or completed a project successfully. Maybe it was an event that you enjoyed, like a SQL Saturday or conference? Maybe it was a talk or a conversation you had with another SQL Server professional. Perhaps it was some social event involving SQL Server.

It could be something you laughed at, a situation that taught you something, or an inspirational moment. Share it with us today, and remember what you enjoy about working in this field.

I hope you had multiple great memories in 2013 and will make more in 2014. Happy Holidays.

A lot of good memories from 2013; it was an explosive year with many new things, adventures, and collaborations. I think that is why I like this industry so much and am so passionate about SQL as a whole. There is never a dull moment in this industry. I guess the one thing that sticks out to me more than anything is the community as a whole. It amazes me daily on the camaraderie everyone seems to have. Sure there are instances where issues arise amongst people but in the vast majority and grand scheme of things we all tend to have each others back.

Looking forward to what 2014 holds and looking forward to meeting and seeing new faces as time progresses.
