Daily Coping 16 Mar 2023

Today’s coping tip is to take three calm breaths at regular intervals during the day.

I had to travel recently, crossing time zones and moving between planes, trains, and automobiles. I set a few reminders on my phone to do this throughout the day. Take a few minutes to calm myself and refresh myself.

I even did this a few times on my own. A few deep breaths are a great way to reset yourself physically and mentally.

I started to add a daily coping tip to the SQL Server Central newsletter and to the Community Circle, which is helping me deal with the issues in the world. I’m adding my responses for each day here. All my coping tips are under this tag.

  1. Steve – Being a Red-Gate employee maybe you can help some of us SQL Prompt users with cooping. I just downloaded and installed the last version of SQL Prompt to find my very convenient and helpful TAB HISTORY had been replaced with this awful SQL HISTORY feature. I’m not against new stuff or updating stuff but this should have been an option whether or not to replace the Tab history feature especially when its something you’re paying for versus a free app. I went to the user forum and found that I’m not the only one frustrated with this change. I am currently requesting help to downgrade my SQL prompt version just so I can get my Tab History back.

The best solution is open a support ticket at support@red-gate.com and ask for which version of Prompt you want to downgrade to.

There was a decision to capture more SQL history, and not maintain two versions of software for doing this.
