Republish: Getting Fired

I haven’t been fired as a DBA, but I was asked to resign. It was a tough day, though a big relief as my boss was a ****head.

I’m traveling around Italy with my wife, so you get to re-read Getting Fired.

  1. Steve – Just to be clear, when you say in this post you were asked to resign you are referring to a time for the long past of which that article you linked to form the past is referring to and not that you were recently asked to and are now traveling with your wife and this old article is also talking about another time when you were asked to leave correct? I’m guessing so but the piece could be read either way.

I myself have always been sought after by each new employer while at my prior job once I got out of school and landed my first job so I’m not familiar with it but I have had to be on the other side of that and it sucks. It’s not fun be the one having to do the firing unless it’s something that is a no brainer like for theft.

      Sorry, caught me on holiday.

I was asked to resign from a past position because of a disagreement with a manager back in 2001.

You’re lucky, like my wife, to be sought out for jobs rather than have to send out a lot of resumes and go through lots of interviews.
