Bringing the Redgate Seminar to Brisbane

We’ve been on a Redgate tour this year, running lots of events to interest, educate, and inspire customers. We know that there are challenges in building and operating database software, and our goals are to help you get better.

I’m heading to Australia in a few weeks. Hopefully on a slightly larger plane (and inside).

The Redgate Seminar is in Brisbane on May 2. It’s an all day event where we’ll talk about how Redgate can help you solve your database management challenges, as well as bring DevOps to the database.

We’ll open the day with a keynote on the state of the database landscape, looking at some of the things we’ve learned from research (our own and industry pieces) as well as from customers. The world of databases is on a journey and I’ll talk through some of that.

The rest of the day has a number of sessions on products as well as panels where you can hear from not only me, but also industry experts that will join us. We’re also partnering with Octopus Deploy, and you’ll hear from their engineers as well a few of ours.

If you can get to Brisbane, come join me. Register today and  I promise you a day of fun at the Pacific Hotel in Spring Hill. Redgate Software is a great host at events, and this is a chance to enjoy our hospitality.

  1. OMG Steve! Are you piloting that beauty? One thing I’ve always wanted to learn was how to fly. I did get to fly a single prop engine plane like that one when the misses and I did our honeymoon at Kitty Hawk (home of the Wright brothers flight) and it was exhilarating to say the least.. Sadly it’s a more costly hobby then horse ridding the other hobby I wished I could have provided the wife and kids. That said while we couldn’t do those things the wife and I were able to make it so she could be a stay at home wife/mother who homeschooled our girls and who today as one heads to College and the other prepares for her Junior year both are geniuses in comparison to their public education counterparts and I would not trade that for all the airplanes and or horses.

Ha, no, I actually don’t like flying. My kid went up in a 4seater as a boy scout (13?) and my daughter (10) wanted to go. I declined. I am not a fan of small jets or prop anything.

A coaching buddy got certified and flies regularly, He said it’s like a second car for cost, but one you can only drive every week or two for an hour. I keep wondering if my son will do this at some point. He has the $$$ to spare.

Horses aren’t horrible, but they are like a second new car and eat up time. That being said, I think animals are amazing for life, especially for kids, adding something to life.

We all make choices, and glad you’re happy with yours. Congrats on the girls growing up and moving on. My last one graduates this spring, and I’m thrilled to have 3 grads for kids, as well as the end of tuition payments.

    • Amen to the end to tuition payments. We are lucky in that we were able to plan in advance and so we have the $$ to covers college albeit less of it then we thought we would back when we started 20+ years ago. When my wife graduated from a private College in the early 90’s it was under $10k annually for everything including room & board. Today that may cover just tuition for a semester.

Good luck. Oldest was about $25k for the degree at UC-Denver. Middle was $30k a year at US-Boulder, in state. Youngest in NY is about $30 a year. Crazy.
